About:

N.U.A. (New Unleashed Art) PAVILION is an Avail Art project from 2010.

Some of the best contemporary artists today live, create and exhibit their work outside of the mainstream museum and "blue-chip" gallery system. They are inspired by a wide range of creative practices and traditions including design, illustration, comics, skateboarding, music and pop culture. The NEW art also includes artists who could fit like a glove into the existing structure based on their training, but have found other mediums of expression (like social media and public space) to be more congruent with their voice and vision.

The NEW art is unleashed. It cannot be boxed into a neat category nor can it be easily defined, except perhaps by its porosity. Boundaries have dissolved. Art is experiencing a new freedom that the market and critical establishment are struggling to understand, or missing entirely.

A work of art made in the last few years is not necessarily NEW. The work is certainly contemporary, but the NEW art draws from the past, reaches into the future and expresses the fullness of a present day story.

The NEW art may appear similar to other contemporary, even modern, works of art. However, what sets it apart is that the tangible manifestation of the work - the object of art - is not all there is.

The NEW art is where the material, conceptual, performance and technology collide.

The NEW artist has an unleashed approach to art making and expresses a kind of manifesto, even a personal mandate, in the sum total of his or her living, communicating, object making and staged performances.

N.U.A. PAVILION highlights what's happening now in this new contemporary art world and, in partnership with important galleries and artists, brings our followers special opportunities to experience and collect the NEW art.
